Our Top 5 Wedding Games for Guests

There can be hours to kill between the ceremony and the reception for guests, and wedding games are the perfect solution because time really does fly when you’re having fun! Not only are wedding games a great ice breaker but they also set the mood for the rest of the night - think flowing drinks, delicious food with guests laughing and talking against a backdrop of beautiful scenery.

We’ve compiled a list of what we believe are the best wedding games for large outdoor weddings and are guaranteed to get the party started. These simple games are classics that everyone knows and loves and best of all, all of these games can be set up outside or inside our tipis or tents!

Want to go the extra step? Consider hiring our furniture to place around these games so non-players can watch, converse and enjoy a cold bevvy at your special day.

1. Giant Jenga

Starting at the top of our list is Giant Jenga! The game that is always a crowd-pleaser, even if it is slightly anxiety-inducing. Jenga has a way of bringing people together, even though (ironically) it is falling apart. Want to add a more personal touch to your Jenga game? Consider incorporating a “truth or dare” challenge on each block. When a player selects a block, they need to complete the dare before they can place the block on the top of the Jenga pile.

2. Ring Toss

Of course we had to include ring-toss for a wedding! We love that this game can be easily customised to suit the colours or theme of your wedding or if you love a clever pun - try engagement ring shaped rings. If you want to spice things up even further for your 18+ guests, consider using bottles of alcohol; get a ring on a bottle? And you drink! Or perhaps you can assign that drink to another player.

3. Corn Hole/Bean-Bag Toss

A similar but different take on the ring toss, this game is easy for adults and children to enjoy. Plus, you can also easily customise the board and bean bags to suit your wedding decor.

4. Giant Connect Four

We all know and love connect four! The classic game is sure to garner the attention and nostalgic childhood memories amongst your guests. Just set up and let the guests release their inner child!

5. Bocce Ball

Pronounced “bo-chee ball”, this is the perfect game for a wedding with lots of lush, green lawn. This is a great game to get people in teams, strategising and laughing. All that’s required is a flat surface, some scorecards, and of course, the bocce balls - let the games begin! Sun a little too hot? Consider setting up the Bocce Ball under one of our Sperry Tents or Kata Tipis.

Remember, it’s your party!

While it’s all fun and games, it’s so important to remember that at the end of the day this is your wedding day. Wedding games aren’t always everyone’s vibe, which is totally okay. But if you want to have some fun and entertainment on your special day, then go for it! Guests don’t have to participate, but in our opinion, incorporating games as a part of the wedding entertainment can be a great way to liven up the party and get people out of their chairs and moving.
